So today was pretty uneventful…no major news to report. I watched an interesting show about gender on the national geographic channel. I figure watching something of substance tonight will cancel out Buffy the Vampire Slayer tomorrow, which is about as trashy as TV gets. Jonah, it was nice to hear from you, I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself in Japan. Jon and I would love to came visit if we can find the time and/or money. I’d love to go back to Japan although it would only make me realize how little I learned in 2 semesters of Japanese class. Oh well, at least I can ask where the bathroom is and say that the pork cutlets are delicious, which always comes in handy. And I remember most of the hiragana and katakana, which is helpful assuming there are none of those pesky Kanjii to mess me up. Work was fun today though, its amazing how easily kids can be entertained. I spend all this money on cool toys for them to play with and today they spent an hour playing with sandpaper and some pieces of wood I got free from Home Depot. Go figure. Next time I’ll hit the hardware store first and quit wasting time in Toys’r'Us. Well I should go do laundry since tomorrow is not in fact wear your bathrobe to work day and that’s about all that I have clean. G’night
Yeah, kids are funny that way. I am teaching a lot of kids now…my youngest group are six 3 and 4 year olds (one of my favorite classes) but I also teach all ages, all the way up to adults. I like the kids most. But anyway, it can be annoying because I do some games for one class and it works great so I start thinking “I am the best EFL teacher ever!”. But then I try the same thing with another group of kids and they hate it. Kids are so unpredictable and no matter how annoying this is I think its also makes them fun. But yeah, stay away from Toys R’ Us! Just give them the cheap stuff!
So if you and Jon could make it out to Japan that would be awesome! Our apartment is small (half the size of our old one back in Wisconsin) but it would be ok. I could take you guys to all the cool places we didn’t get a chance to go to before! I really hope you guys can get a chance to come out here because we would have a great time! Julia wants to come as well, so that would be awesome if you could all hang out together!
Tomomi and I are thinking of coming back in the summer, but we aren’t sure yet. We only have about 10 days off between us in August, but we also have 10 days off in May as well so maybe on one of those vacations we will make our way over to Portland to see you and Jon. That is, if we can save our money…Japan is so damn expensive!
So far Jon’s blog is far superior. My reasoning being that this blog has 0 MacGuyver content.
Now I know Jon’s blog may not be litterd with tales of love and adventure and exploding cats that is MacGuyver the television series, but I have hope that it will soon become an ocean filled with his MacGuyver love.
Sweet and sticky MacGuyver love.
