Why we need to win the Lottery

So Jon and I had an appointment yesterday to pick out all the stuff we wanted for the house we’re having built. It was interesting, and we ended up getting almost everything that we wanted. However, I have come to the conclusion that I have expensive taste. I sort of knew this, but wasn’t sure how far it extended. It was amazing, given a choice between at least two of anything I invariably picked the most expensive option. For example, we had the choice between 7 different kinds of carpet, five of which were virtually indestinguishable from each other. I know absolutely nothing about carpet, and yet I managed to pick out the most expensive one. It’s like some crazy talent. I decided that I didn’t need slab granite countertops in the kitchen, but still managed to pick the most expensive alternative, granite tile. In general its amazing to me how expensive house stuff is, and I guess my taste doesn’t help. So I’ve decided that we need to win the lottery, which I think is the easiest way to deal with my fondness for expensive stuff. I’m planning on doing it on Saturday, so if I don’t write for a while that means I actually won and I’m out spending it on $500 dollar doorknobs and 24k gold toilet seats.
