So I haven’t written in like 2 months, and since a lot has actually been going on, I thought I’d write and get everyone up to speed.
I went to San Fransisco in Aug. for a bachelorette party, which was pretty awesome. I had never been to California, but I loved SF. We went to a drag show, went wine tasting in Napa, ate at some great restaurants and drank. A lot. All in all it was a great weekend (at least what I remember of it).
Moving on to September, I went to (and participated in) my friend Katy’s wedding. It was in Bend, which is a three hour drive from Portland. I got to see some gorgeous scenery (I drove over the pass by Mt Hood) and didn’t even get lost. I did, however, see a big salmon in the middle of the road up in the mountains, which I thought was strange, since I was under the impression they lived in the water. Oh well, I guess you learn something new every day. Anyway, Bend is a beautiful city and the wedding was perfect.
We also moved into our new house in September, which was pretty cool. We don’t have anywhere near all the boxes unpacked, but we’re working on it.
Jon and I joined a gym a couple of weeks ago. It’s weird, I’m actually enjoying working out. I do, however, need to make some CD’s to listen to while I’m there. Its nice that the gym is only like 5 min from the house,we have no excuse not to go.
We’ve been seeing a lot of movies lately, as Jon mentioned. I really liked Kill Bill although I don’t really relish the idea of waiting four months for the next one. I thought it was a lot of fun, a great tribute to Hong Kong action flicks. And being the uber-geek that I am, I really liked Underworld.
I also quit my job 2 weeks ago, and I’m really enjoying having some time off, although it’s not going to last too long (I like spending money too much). I’m thinking that I’m going to work on getting my real estate license and become a realtor. Right now, though, I’m just working on getting settled in the new house and getting everything unpacked.
I got a new monitor for my computer tonight; my old one was pretty much shot. We’ve had it for a long time and when we plugged it in tonight, the screen kept flickering and turning blue. Oh well, we knew it would happen sooner or later. We went to CompUsa and I got a 17 in. Sony LCD. It takes up much less room on my desk than the old one did too. Yay technology!
So that’s more or less what’s been going on with me lately. I’m going to start writing at least 3 or 4 times a week now that I have more free time, and hopefully I’ll be able to avoid these long, catch-up entries in the future.
