So apparently yesterday was Sweetest Day, which passed under my radar without so much as a blip. According to a couple of websites, Sweetest Day is a chance to show appreciation for those that you care about, and those that might ordinarily be taken for granted, or some such nonsense. In my opinion (because everyone should have my opinion), I think holidays like Valentine’s Day and Sweetest day are kind of a barometer of a relationship. If you really need an advertising campaign telling you to be nice to your family, friends, and significant other, maybe you need to put more time and effort into your relationships. Like do something nice for someone one of the other 363 days of the year. It means more to me when Jon does something nice just because he was thinking about me, or when one of my friends calls just to see how I’ve been, than it does to get a card because it’s a holiday and one was expected. Anyways, I’m taking that opportunity now. It’s not a holiday, but I really do appreciate my friends and family, and of course, Jon, who’s the center of my life and my best friend. Love you guys!

I love you too sweetie. I guess this means I suck since I didn’t recall Sweetest day – I’ll make up to you on the next bogus holiday
